Oi de Mozambique!

Oi Everyone!

I hope you all had a good week! This week was pretty long. We did not have a lot of success, but we have made plans to change that! So this next week is going to be great!

So this Saturday, October 31st, we have Gerson´s baptism!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED! We have had to wait more than a month to baptize him because of situations with the ward, but it is finally here! He is extremely ready and is taking this step in his life very seriously. He is also using this as a missionary opportunity for his friends and family.

This week we also worked a lot with David. He is 11 and we are planning on baptizing him next week. When we baptize him, we will complete his family and they will all be members! We might need to push his baptism back a week or two, but I will let you know!

Mozambique recently got a fund to help people go to the temple! We had it 5 years ago but it was taken away because people were misusing it. But we have it back, so we are helping many of our families get ready to go to the temple!

We also watched conference this weekend! It was a great experience! It was all in Portuguese so at times it was hard to pick up what they were talking about, but I still learned a lot!

Well that’s about it, tchau until next week!

Another transfer done!

Oi Everyone!

Another transfer is done!! It is starting to go so fast and that's crazy! I am also finished with training!! I am officially out of training so that will be nice!

For this transfer, I will be staying in my area T3 with Elder Brown. Not too much changed here! The ony thing that changed with me is that I am out of training!

This week was a crazy and amazing week! We did not have a lot of time to go out into the area, but it was good.

We had Zone Conference this week! It was a lot of fun and we talked about many things that I think will help me and our areas. I had to say the opening prayer, so that was cool!

Also this week, we had Mormon Helping Hands! WHAT A COOL EXPERIENCE!!! We all met at the stake center in Matola on Thursday. We all had to wear those bright yellow vests, so that was neat. We worked with Stop Hunger Now. For those of you that are familiar with Feed My Starving Children, it is pretty much the same thing except based out of South Africa. Nelson Mandela´s wife came and spoke. I met her and that was so cool! She is such a nice and fun lady. We packed food alllllllll day and did so much! They blasted music while we worked so it was so much fun. I took pictures and will try to send them!

We had Gerson´s baptismal interview this week! We planned to have his baptism on the 24th but they forgot to announce it at church, so we have to push it until the week after. We feel bad that we keep having to move his date, but at least he is ready for baptism!

Another great week!

Oi everyone!

My email is actually on time this week!

This week was a great week. We really tried this week to meet our weekly goals; because of this we really were successful!

We had a super great blessing happen this week. So on our most successful day this week we had a ton of lessons. Our last lesson was a long ways away so we were going to be about an hour late back at home. We were walking down this long road and a car pulled up to us and asked if we were going to T3. We said yes and they offered us a ride (don’t worry its part of the culture to do this) so we got in and started talking. The man and his wife said they were looking for a new religion, have already planned their marriage, AND live only 5 minutes from our house! So we took his number and gave them a pamphlet. They dropped us off at home and we were even on time! What a blessing! We sat with them yesterday, so lets hope they stay!

Our investigator Gerson is planning on getting baptized next week! October 24. We had to push it back a week because there was not any time to do his interview. I will update you on him!

There is not too much more that was eventful this week. But it was a great week! This is the last week of the transfer; so next Monday is transfer day! I will let you know what happens!

I hope you all have a great week! Tchau!

Oi Everyone! Another Late Update!

Oi everyone!
Sorry for being a day late on the weekly update again...
Yesterday was a holiday here, so the internet was closed. So we are just doing internet this morning instead!

This week was much more successful than usual! We got quite a few inactive families coming to church, so it is great! Our frequency at church just keeps growing! So at this rate, our ward will probably be split here in the near future! Lets hope for more success!

So we are teaching this part member and less active member family. The father is the old branch president who is less active now. Most of his family does not come anymore and has 4 kids that are not members. HIs name is Mulungo. We have been working a lot with his family lately and he has been coming to church! We are now teaching his kids and preparing them for baptism! It is so exciting!

We had interviews this week with our mission president. That was nice! We really learned a lot about what we need to do to be even more successful! And I was able to do the whole interview in Portuguese! So that was a great learning experience as well!

So, Conference was this weekend too! We are not able to watch it yet... We will watch it in December after they translate everything into Portuguese! But we did find out the new apostles! It was so exciting!

Well that is about it for this week! I love you all!
