Rain, Rain, and Rain

Hey everyone!

This week was pretty great, EXCEPT for the rain. :) Literally allllllll week it rained. But miracles happen. I prayed for there to be no rain for Saturday and Sunday so we could have a baptism and actually have people at church. And GUESS WHAT?! It didn't rain on Saturday or Sunday! :)

But yeah, we had a baptism this week! Igor got baptized!! (See attached picture) We had to do the baptism in T3! I saw everyone I knew in T3 and that was so much fun!!!!

I haven't updated about our investigators for a while, so here is a quick update.
We have 2 miracle investigators.
First, Ordete. Literally the most prepared person I have found on my mission, no doubt!  She understands everything. She was a reference from a member! The first week we found her she tried coming to church but got lost... But she hasn’t missed a Sunday since!!!

Our amazing family right now, Rosa and her kids!  So, we found this family because the first counselor in our ward thought they were members but it turns out they were never baptized!!! So they are at church every week but they were never baptized because the husband refuses to be married... So we are working on that. But this woman is such an inspiration. She told us about how she had a dream before she met the missionaries over 5 years ago. She told us the dream and it was literally Lehi's Vision.... She said she told the dream to the missionaries and they showed her where to find the same dream in the Book of Mormon, she has been converted ever sense. She has literally so many stories like this. Every one of her kids are the same way! AMAZING!

But I hope you all had a great week!  Seya!!

Catch Up

Hey Everyone!

What a week!!!!

First. I AM OFFICIALLY 19 YEARS OLD! I am still one of the youngest on the mission but that is fine...

My birthday wasn't all that special... We went to T3 to eat at one of my favorite restaurants there. So that was fun. But I spent this whole week with a cold.... So Happy Birthday to me :)

But sorry I didn't write more last week! I will explain a little better now. So yeah! We baptized Eliza and Pedro! I will send pictures today! We had to do the baptism for Pedro on Saturday and then Eliza's on Sunday morning because Eliza had an emergency meeting for work.... But that is ok! It all worked out.

Our house also did not have water for a week.... That was fun! No showers, no clean dishes, no nothing. So I have definitely learned not to take energy or water for granted while I have been here in Africa :)

ANNOUNCEMENT! We will be having another baptism this weekend! His name is Igor. He is 20 and was a reference from a recent convert. He is amazing! Has so much desire. He unfortunately is going blind and doesn't have the money to have the surgery to fix it... but he is still pushing forward! I will update you all on him next week.

But I think that is everything! I hope you all have a great week! Also, thanks for all of the birthday wishes! Tchau!

PS- Igor cooked me some chicken feet on my birthday... Let's just say that I don't like chicken feet.

Also, here is a picture with me and my ghetto birthday cake. That "candle" is actually a match. It was the best I could find.

Satan Hates Me.

I think the subject explains how this week went :)

We had a lot of success, don't get me wrong, but Satan likes messing with my area and I don't appreciate it :)

As I said last week, we were supposed to have 2 baptisms this week but had to be postponed until next week (this Saturday). Everyone was there and ready for the baptism but someone, who I am sure meant good, emptied the baptismal font and the area was without water... It is kind of hard to do a baptism without water... So we apologized to everyone and everyone went home. I still feel awful, but at least it will get done this week! We went to KFC afterwards because I was upset...

But on the bright side, I talked to my family yesterday!! It was wonderful!!! I loved it! They even made me a birthday cake for my birthday! WOO HOO! Only 2 more Skypes!?!?! WHAT!?! That is crazy!

Also, so everybody knows, transfers are today!!! I am staying here in my area of Mahotas B but with a new comp! Guess his name…. Elder Brown! MY THIRD ELDER BROWN!!!! Is that even allowed?! Haha but really though, I am super excited! I am already very good friends with this Elder so it should be a lot of fun! Let's hope for the best!

I love ya all! I hope you all had a good Mother's Day! Have a great week!

Week Number... I don't know anymore....

Hey Everybody!

This week has been full of ups and downs!!!!

First down. Still no companion.

First up. I have been walking with Elder Willian (from Brazil) as a current companion because he doesn’t have a companion either! We get a long great! He was already a great friend of mine.

Down 2. I found out my recent convert from Chamba (Fernando) got super sick and now does not have any control and is medically insane. So he is in an insane asylum...

Up 2. a part member family I found the week I left Chamba just got baptized!!!! Named Pedro, Helena, and Tereza. Great family.

Down 3. We were stuck inside the house this weekend and not allowed to leave because of safety risks. It was National Day of the worker (which naturally means celebrate all week). People take holidays serious. Serious as in every one gets drunk....

Up 3. BAPTISMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Saturday Pedro and Eliza will be baptized!!!! It has been hard since I have literally had to teach them everything without even being in my area. Hardest baptisms yet... Thanks Satan. But God blessed me wit the ability to do it!

Up 4. I ate KFC this week. Twice.

That pretty much sums up my week!~

This Sunday is Mothers day (YAY SKYPING). To all the mothers (and future mothers), thank you so much. You all mean so much to me. I love you all!!!

Have a great week and Mothers day!

Me and my investigator, Eliza. The one that will be baptized this week!
Me and my KFC.
